This will be the first of many i hope. Jim Baross of the coalition will hold a meeting at the shop. he wants to talk to my customer base (generally a younger group) to educate people more on how to be active. the first meeting he will talk about all kinds of things including using the correct lingo so you can talk to people about these things and sound like you know what your talking about. there will also be a slide show.
this is an open forum where questions and comments are welcomed. if we want to start a movement is San Diego like Davis or Portland this is how its done, from the bottom-up. it all begins with the riders. lets gather and show that bike issues are important to us. lets also show Jim that advocacy is not only for the retired folk. show that this is important to the younger generations as well. lets get active. lets do protests. it starts here!
Jim is hoping for 20 or so people. lets double that! show that we really want the corrupt city government to thing about cyclists.
7pm on Thursday in the shop!
San Diego is ready for some more bicycle activism. It really is a great city to ride in as far as terrain and diversity of neighborhoods. The scene is getting big right now which means more riders are out on the road. Now is a the time to start gathering those growing numbers together in order to secure and establish an even more bicycle friendly city in the future.
This is also a great excuse and opportunity for myself to drool over the amazing bikes down in the shop.
